Dartmouth Pupils celebrate World Book Day
Pupils from Dartmouth Academy celebrated World Book Day with a series of fun events.
Groups from the academy’s primary phase visited the town’s library in the Dartmouth Flavel Arts Centre, where they learnt about using the library with librarian Liz Wilson before heading off to the Dartmouth Community Bookshop in Higher Street to use their £1 book vouchers – given to all primary age children around the country.
Children also gave presentations in the academy’s primary assembly on the day, telling their fellow pupils about their favourite books.
The annual event promotes reading and ties in with buddy schemes running at the academy where members of staff and older students spend time reading with younger learners.
