Environment Agency issues severe flood warnings for coastal towns in South Devon

The Environment Agency has issued a series of severe flood warnings for coastal communities as gale-force winds combine with high tides early tomorrow morning (Friday 3 January). Severe flood warnings – the
highest category of warning – indicate a danger to life and property.
The South West looks set to bear the brunt of the storm with severe flood warnings being put in place along the north and south coasts of Devon and Cornwall. Further severe flood warnings are likely to be issued
for the Dorset coast along with flood warnings on the Somerset coast. Gale force 8-10 winds are combining with high tides and tidal surge of between 0.6 and 1.5 metres around the South West coast.
