A little bit of heaven is found in church
A TINY piece of ‘heaven’ has been discovered in a major refurbishment at St Saviour’s Church, Dartmouth.
The £300,000-£350,000 project has revealed an ornate duck egg blue ceiling with stars, high above the rafters.
The hidden treasure has remained out of sight for several years as the original paintwork had turned a murky dark green with age.
It was only when restorer Ruth McNeilage climbed a tower in the middle of the parish church and began cleaning the panels that the discovery was made.
